Sweetie Pie Organics Lactation Smoothie Review and Giveaway

img_0144Well, the dreaded time has come. My maternity leave is coming to an end and I’m getting ready to go back to work. Terrible, right? Just when I’m getting the hang of the whole car line pick-up thing at Ava’s elementary school too. Instead of sitting in my car at 2:45 with a screaming baby who hates the car and hates a stationery car even more, I’ll be sitting in my office and the screaming baby will be replaced by a resident. Although there is a good chance that the resident will also be screaming… so maybe I’ll feel right at home.

Since I’m heading back to work, Adaline will be going to daycare. She’s been practicing drinking from a bottle and is slowly getting the hang of it. I’ve been trying to boost my milk supply so that on top of Addie’s nursing sessions every few hours, I can pump enough to give her a bottle once a day and to build up a stash in the freezer that we’ll bring to daycare. I recently came across Sweetie Pie Organics on instagram and was excited to give their lactation smoothies a try. These smoothies are made up of five simple ingredients: fenugreek, flax seed, pear purée, apple and passion fruit juice and have only 180 calories, no added sugar and are organic, kosher and GMO free. I like them because they’re an easy afternoon snack that I can take with me to the car line and enjoy from my perch in Ava’s booster seat which is next to Adaline’s car seat. I can easily drink a smoothie with one hand, while trying to get screaming Adaline to take a binky with the other, all the while being prepared to launch myself back to the driver’s seat when the car line starts moving!

I’ve found that these smoothies definitely increase my milk supply and I love that there’s no preparation that I need to do before being able to drink them. They taste really good too! You can definitely taste the pear and they actually remind me a little of pear baby food. And no, I’m not weird for tasting baby food. You know you’ve done it too! With no added sugar, they have just the right amount of sweetness and the texture is nice and smooth. They also don’t have to be refrigerated before opening, so if you purchase a 12-pack they don’t have to take up a lot of space in your fridge.

If you are a breastfeeding mama, you should definitely give these a try! They are easy to get your hands on too. Have Amazon Prime? Perfect! These are available on Amazon and are Prime eligible. Click here to shop Amazon for your lactation smoothies. You can also get them directly from Sweetie Pie Organics by clicking here (and use code FREESHIP for free shipping). Be sure to check out their organic snacks for older babies and toddlers too! If you’re out and about and need a milk-boosting snack, stop into your local Whole Foods Market where you can find Sweetie Pie Organics lactation smoothies in the baby section. No matter where you purchase, the smoothies are $2.99 each. Sweetie Pie Organics also offers a monthly subscription option which saves you 5%. For more information or to sign up, click here.

I’ve partnered with Sweetie Pie Organics to give away of a one-month supply of smoothies (24 smoothies). Head over to my instagram to enter! This giveaway is open to US residents and will run from 3/20/17 through 3/24/17. Good luck!

  1. I’m just happy to know I’m not along with the whole screaming baby in the car thing! It’s been terrible and I dread going anywhere!!!

    • Everyone used to tell me that babies sleep in the car. Well I’ve had three that all preferred screaming over sleeping. It’s the worst because you can’t help but to feel distracted when driving with a screaming baby in the backseat. It’s better when Ava is in the car because she’ll talk to her and give her the binky.

  2. I’m so nervous about going back to work as well! I’ve been trying to up my supply so that I have a bit if a stash for when I start since my shifts will be so long. Thankfully my husband knows how to pace feed so I don’t need to worry about wasted milk.

  3. After being able to stay home for my older kids I’ve had get back into the workforce after my 4th. It’s so hard, I miss her terribly and keeping up my supply is especially difficult. I do my best but with all the juggling we mom’s do my nutrition suffers which makes my supply suffer. Still going though 6 months in and judging by her rolls I’m doing a better job than I give myself credit for. ❤

  4. I’ve heard great things about this brand!! I would love to try them!! I’ve struggled with pumping lately!!
