QUICK! What’s your favorite song?

I’m talking about your absolute, hands-down, nothing ever will take it’s place, this is your jam and everybody knows it, you even have a dance that you made up for it that you taught to your bridesmaids so that you could all dance it at your wedding because only two of the three of them knew it in advance. Do you know what I mean? If you don’t have a song like this, then you are not living! Find one because it is out there. You will play this song randomly for your kids and dance around the kitchen while they stare at you with a mixture of delight and confusion playing across their little faces. You will think of it when you are in the middle of the worst day ever and it will put a smile on your face. And when you happen to catch it on the radio or playing in the background of a movie or TV show, you can barely contain your abundant excitement! Because that is the stuff that your best and wildest dreams are made of! A land where your song is the soundtrack to everyone’s life and you listen to it endlessly and are not the only one who knows the sacred dance. (It’s called the Broken Leg Dance by the way and if you see me in person, I will do it for you!)

And let’s be clear. I’m not talking about Royals by Lorde or Counting Stars by OneRepublic. These are momentary jams, songs of the minute, and sure you may get pumped when you hear them and belt out the words like you are T. Swift herself, at one of her concerts singing about her latest boyfriend that she broke up with while drinking diet coke. But neither of these is your FAVORITE song.

I’m sure you are all dying to know what my song is. What has evoked what you are obviously picturing as the coolest dance ever. Well here you go. You’re welcome. Now what’s yours??

  1. I Want You Back by the Jackson Five is where its at for me. As soon as the first notes start, I’m spinning and bopping my way across any room with no consciousness of where I am or the general rules of human decorum.

I will also stop whatever I am doing to do an interpretive dance to Madonna’s Like A Prayer.

    • Yes! You know it’s your favorite song when you cannot stop yourself from doing a crazy and ridiculous dance!
And I also have the same reaction to Like A Prayer! I never knew how to describe the effect that song has on me, but I think that interpretive dance is exactly what it is!
      Great song picks!
